The International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) has developed the digital IBCCES Accessibility Card (IAC) as a complimentary resource for individuals seeking accommodations at participating amusement parks and attractions. This card is especially beneficial for those engaged in autism travel, as it assists individuals with various needs. The IAC is designed for anyone requesting accommodations – including, but not limited to, individuals who are autistic, use a wheelchair, are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, have mobility support needs, are accompanied by a service animal, have sensory sensitivities, cognitive disabilities, or other concerns. Easter Seals Canada’s award-winning Access 2 Card Program was launched in 2004 with the support of Cineplex Entertainment and a coalition of national disability organizations. The Access 2 Card program helps ensure that entertainment, cultural, and recreational opportunities are more available and accessible to all, including those interested in autism travel. Managed and administered by Easter Seals Canada, based in Toronto, the Access 2 Card program has expanded to reach over 100,000 Canadians living with disabilities and boasts over 800 participating partner venues across the country.
With the support of our proud partner venues and fantastic cardholders, Access 2 has emerged as a national leader in creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities and raising awareness about the importance of accessible venues.
